Omega 3 fatty acids contain Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) which reduces inflammation in our body and serves to support the health of our cell membranes. Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), which is different from DHEA (a hormone precursor), is important for brain health and cognition. Research studies have been conducted supplementing women with omega-3 fatty acids and found that they improved egg quality and delayed the aging of the ovaries. They also help with cardiovascular health and cognition. Supplementation with omega 3 fatty acids for egg quality can range from 1000 – 2000mg per day with EPA 300-1000mg depending on individual needs.
