Hashimoto’s is an auto immune disorder of the thyroid where is immune system attacks your own thyroid. The thyroid can become inflamed and the function of your thyroid can be altered.
Many times, Hashimoto’s goes undiagnosed. Some under active thyroid maybe actually due to Hashimoto’s.
It is not proven if endometrial receptivity defects are a result of Hashimoto’s thyroiditis. However, I see many women with Hashimoto’s that not only have issues conceiving but also have a high rate of implantation failure with IVF-ET.
Could this be due to the fact that there is an autoimmune dysregulation affecting the endometrial receptivity to the embryo? It seems plausible. Regulating the immune system is key for success.
The first step is to determine if you have Hashimoto’s by testing your blood for thyroid antibodies. If you are already know you have Hashimoto’s then it is improvident to regulate the immune system and reduce inflammation in your body.
